New free guide to vegan and vegetarian services launched in the UK iPhone app store
Date: 2011-03-29
BunnyGo offers an extensive national (UK) guide to vegan/vegetarian services including restaurants, shops, cafes, accommodation etc. via the Activeg Network, a community of over sixty web sites.
Where to eat, stay & shop
BunnyGo is location aware, if GPS is available, BunnyGo will automatically provide a list of all the services available to you locally, listed in order of distance. In this list the user will be able to see recommended services, along with an indication of how many reviews a location or service has received.
The locations in the search results list can be viewed and selected from the interactive map view.
As well as the local search, BunnyGo can search any location by name or postcode.
Locations can be selected from the list or map to see more detail, such as all services offered, address details, access to websites, you can even to ring directly or email from within BunnyGo. From the detail view the user can browse through user reviews to help you make an informed choice.
You can download BunnyGo for free.
Rating system
BunnyGo uses a unique rating system which grades locations on how good they are, ultimately, for vegans. It uses a complex formula to produce a relative score across all locations. As veganism enters the mainstream the scores of those places who do not improve their offers will drop in respect to new, more enlightened establishments.
Users reviews have a strong influence on the score as does the quality of the information we hold on a location.
Groups
BunnyGo also shows your local veggie group (well those on the ActiVeg Network).
The future
BunnyGo will be released on other devices. Contact Protected email address and tell us which devices we should support next.
BunnyGo V2 will allow you to feedback into the system via your mobile device including new locations, updates, reviews and images. You can do this now via ActiVeg web site, but we want to make it really easy for veggies on the move. You will be able to use your Facebook/Twitter etc account to log in.
The philopshy behind BunnyGo is not to make a mint but to promote a better way of eating by making becoming veggie easier therefore BunnyGo will publish an API to allow programmers to pull our data into their application, for free. Applications will also be able to write back to the BunnyGo database. This way the whole community can benefit from free access to quality data. We will give more details soon.

ActiVeg site disruption - update
Done!
All sites should be working. The login server "secure.activeg.org" should now stop throwing out those warning messages and we even have a little SSL certificate logo on the login page.
Some non-AVN domain named sites still need to set their domain names IP adresses to 212.67.217.15. If your site does not work than this is most probably the cause.
