Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre to "Unite the City's Campaigners" for the first time

Date: 2010-03-10

The first ever Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre aims to "€˜unite the city'™s campaigners"€™ for the first time, claims the organiser Tim Barford, from Bristol based hemp company Yaoh.

‘The time has come for people who care to join forces and truly make a difference to the way our city – and indeed the whole world – steps up to the challenges we all face’ says Tim, the main man behind the event. ‘We have invited in the leading representatives from the Fair Trade, Eco Friendly and Veggie/vegan pressure groups, charities, businesses and organisations to make sure that our combined voice becomes even louder’.

‘In order to combat the current threat of climate change it is essential that those that truly care about the future of the planet combine to change on all levels possible, as quickly as possible, and with as much influence on mainstream society as possible – and that means right now.’ says Tim.

‘The Bristol Eco Veggie Fayre aims to unite those passionate about Fair Trade, veggie issues and green campaigns – and we already have local groups including the Bristol Fair Trade Network and Bristol Friends of the Earth joining forces with some of the leading veggie campaigners of the day, including Bristol based Viva! (Europe's biggest veggie pressure group) and environmental campaigners such as Sea Shepherd involved with the event, along with local and national traders.’

The show includes a wide variety of stalls and information, including the Fair Trade Zone, The Carbon Market, the Campaigns Collective, the Veggie Village, and the Kids area, along with 3 stages, 20 caterers including some of the UK's leading veggie outfits, and over 100 stalls.

And there's also a full line up of musical entertainment during the weekend, the same team that has brought the likes of The Beat, The Blockheads, Aswad, Dreadzone, Horace Andy and Bad Manners to Bristol over the last few years.

Roots Manuva are this year's headliners and tickets are already flying out..... And if you are concerned about the price, in the wake of certain other events planned this summer – don't be. This for the people by the people, and prices are only £6 each day for adults, with Kids under 12 and OAP's half price. Tickets are available in advance from Yaoh from March 8th 2010

Show times – 11am – 11pm Saturday May 29th and 11am – 9pm Sunday May 30th
