Linda McCartney Foods soon to label which are vegan
VegSoc Approved
Date: 2008-07-15
Hain Celestial, the latest owners of the Linda McCartney brand, are proving far more responsive to consumer requests than the previous owners, Heinz. We've heard that the McCartneys have more say too. The packaging will soon be changing to label which of their products are vegan, thus making them much more reassuring to dairy-free and egg-free customers.
Although there are better meat analogues and veggie ready meals on the market, some Linda McCartney products are fairly widespread - we've even found them in Bourg St Maurice in France! The sausage rolls are excellent for parties and usually fool meat-eaters.
The current vegan product list is: Spicy Three Bean Bakes, Chilli Non Carne Vegetarian Sausages, Vegetarian Cornish Pasties, Country Pies, and Vegetarian Sausage Rolls.

Mosco: Herbivore heaven
Moscow’s vegetarian dining scene could be described as dismal – but that’s not to say there’s a lack of veggie eats in the city’s non-veggie eateries. Just go to a Ukrainian spot and you’ll find all kinds of vegetarian vareniki, or go to any Georgian joint and order khachapuri, lobio or adzhapsandal. There are countless Italian eateries with vegetarian pizzas and pasta, and sushi bars with veggie maki galore. What’s really lacking is a range of restaurants dedicated to exclusively vegetarian dining.
