3rd March 2007 - the event starts at 11:00. and ends at 17:00:00

Description

The Vegan Society is having an informal welcoming open day in the run up to its move to Birmingham. Come and find out about inspirational vegan jobs and local volunteering.

Anyone interested in working for the Society in its new location is really encouraged to pop in, have a chat and taste some lovely food.

Also, it would be great to see local people who would like to be volunteers, either for their specialist skills or generally in practical ways.

Come and chat & nibble!

The Vegan Society is relocating to Birmingham this spring. This is a great opportunity for more people to become involved at our larger, more accessible new premises.

We are holding an open day for people to come along and chat informally to members of staff and Council about working for us. You will also get a glass of wine or fruit juice and some food.

Whether you have a few hours a week to give as a volunteer or whether you are interested to know about the job vacancies that will be available in the new Birmingham office, we would love to see you on the day.

Volunteers

It might be that you have a particular skill to offer. For example you may be a web designer, or a health professional who can help with our advocacy campaign, or a lawyer who can give us legal advice. Or it might be that you are happy to do some filing and photocopying. Some volunteer work can be done remotely, such as proofreading.

Job Vacancies

  • Chief Executive Officer – someone with vision and enthusiasm to drive the charity forward.
  • Education Officer – to promote veganism in schools.
  • Finance Officer – to manage the accounts and office systems.
  • Information Officer – to research and write factual material.

It may be that you are interested in one of the jobs we are currently advertising, but you want to find out more before deciding whether to apply for it or not. If this is the case then please come along and ask questions.

For some posts flexible hours of work, part time work or job sharing may be considered, again, come and talk to us about this.

We have some great opportunities available due to both relocation and expansion into new areas. Even if none of the jobs currently advertised are suitable for you, come and meet us anyway so we can get to know the skills and talents available for the future.

If you can’t make it on the day or want more information please contact Rosamund Raha: Protected email address 01424 448829.
