Becoming an ActiVeg contact
There is no need to be a member of any official organisation in order to be listed on ActiVeg, and there is no fee to pay.
To be listed on Activeg contacts listings you will be:
- vegan, or vegetarian and very vegan-friendly
- contactable by me by email (and optionally by additional means), although you can opt not to have your email address displayed on-line
- able to respond to queries about vegan and vegetarian issues, referring to other information sources when you are unsure of the answer
- positive and responsive
- a person who avoids being aggressive or unpleasant to non-vegans and/or non-veggies when representing vegetarianism in any form, remembering it can be safest to halt communication rather than allow situations to escalate
- always peaceful and aiming to keep within the law
- someone who tries to avoid mixing in other beliefs and principles when representing veggie/vegan reasoning
- sensible about giving away personal information and always meet with new people in safe environments (such as public places and restaurants)
- keen to keep the information about you and the groups you represent accurate and up to date on the ActiVeg listings
Any group you represent on ActiVeg should also reflect these peaceful, positive and risk-limiting principles.
Applying to be an ActiVeg contact
If you would like to be listed as an individual contact and/or a group (local or specialist), please copy and paste these bullet points into an email and add the answers:
- your full name
- your town, county and postcode
- your phone number(s) and email address
- and especially which of these contact details should be displayed on the web listings. We never show postal addresses as we do not consider this safe
- any veggie group(s) you wish to be a contact for on ActiVeg, and that group's name and website
- whether you wish to be a contact for: local vegan/veggie info (I will assume this unless you say otherwise), representing veggies in the media, families (if you have experience of bringing up veggie kids), youth (you must be aged 16-25), public speaking
- whether you are veggie or vegan
and optionally:
- what your interests are and any skills/profession
- your own website(s)
- which veggie/animal organisations you are listed with
